These films respond to Fe walking in the South Downs National Park during July 2023.

This film follows Norma as she walks to local shops in Manila at the end of the rainy season, October 2023.

A whisper in the trees,
A song on the wind,
Leaves waltzing around me,
Birds communicating in their own voice.
SPASM. TWINGE.
I feel free,
I feel at peace,
I feel connected to nature,
I feel grounded to the floor.
SPASM. TWINGE.
I’m never alone,
I’m accompanied by the world around me,
My thoughts are spacious,
Distraction is valued.
SPASM. TWINGE.

Every step is unique,
Every step becomes easier,
Every step guides my path,
Every step increases confidence.
SPASM. TWINGE

I search the skies,
For the blue patch of heavens,
A positivity flowing through me,
Walking is my friend.

Natalie Sharratt, May 2023

Film #01 responds to Natalie walking in a Nottingham park in September 2023.

Film #02 responds to a poem Natalie wrote about her pain whilst walking and footage she took in November 2023.

Natalie worked with Roger Kerry and Shirley Chubb on editing her film to include precise effects that reflect her experience of walking with pain and the relationship she has developed with the environments she walks in.

See the completed film on the left and Natalie’s poem below.

This documentation was taken as Lena walked in the country near Tromsø in December 2023, during the polar night season.

This footage was recorded by Shirley in the summer and autumn of 2023. The camera was attached to her ankle whilst walking giving a new perspective on the world.
